Israel Romero / Sunday, May 19, 2024 / Categories: Blog Find people, don't just search for them, to achieve success. Reaching success It may seem like a small nuance, but it's actually quite the opposite. In this life you can spend all the time in the world looking for your like-minded people and, unfortunately, not find them. That’s why you have to find, not search. How? We share our recipe with you at Made in Spain Gourmet. To avoid mistakes, you must know yourself very well Let your values guide you and present yourself the way you deserve Demand the same you offer in order to truly move forward Sharing projects and strategies: double satisfaction and longer lasting results If we think about increasing the company's staff, we believe we have to look for new people to join. If we want to expand our business internationally, we're told that we have to find the right people to carry it out. The concept of searching (in this sense...) seems to be linked to business and personal development. And do we think this is the best philosophy to achieve the goals we set for ourselves? Definitely not. To avoid mistakes, you must know yourself very well But then, although it sounds very nice in theory, how can we find people instead of searching for them? Is it possible to control that? At first glance it seems more like a pipe dream. Well, it isn't. Although you have to develop a series of mechanisms/your own parameters to succeed at this task. The strategy is clear: get to know yourself, and recognize yourself in front of a mirror. To communicate well and convey what you really want, you must know your strengths and weaknesses and always bring them into your professional arguments. What good is being a theoretical expert on how to position a brand in a market like the U.S. if you don't communicate why you should be the partner to do it? If you know your strong points and apply them in your professional relationships, I'm more than convinced you'll find your like-minded people by following that pattern of being yourself. Only in this way, and by repeating the exercise with many people, will you master this state and find the people you want, because you will attract them. Let your values guide you and present yourself the way you deserve So, how do we define ourselves? In this case my “recipe” is to present yourself as you are, from minute one. Convey your values to also attract, from the start, the best possible values from the other person. The logic is overwhelming: if you show honesty in your arguments, you're much more likely to have others show their honesty more quickly. If you present yourself professionally, the same applies, and if you share professional experiences, you're likely to connect and have a much greater chance of matching with people who, when they listen to you, feel close to you. You don't have to sell a product or service; you have to sell yourself. But be careful: whatever you sell must have guarantees, otherwise they won't want to buy anything else that comes from you. Demand the same you offer in order to truly move forward This life philosophy requires a "quid pro quo", that is, of course in life we have to give, but we must also receive. This tactic and strategy must be accompanied by reciprocity from the like-minded or those you've found. So, to keep feeding professional relationships, we must demand — and here comes the most committed part — commitment from the other party, because we will have given enough reasons for them to feel committed. And that's where the ground usually disappears beneath your feet. Nevertheless, these tests are essential so we don't misjudge the level of our contribution if the other party is not willing to do the same. Sharing projects and strategies: double satisfaction and longer lasting results And finally, when you're at that level of relationship where you perceive synergies almost by inertia (it's truly a joy to reach that climax), we can say we've found what I like to call "the gold nuggets," a wonderful simile that illustrates the time you can save by digging through tons of earth and ultimately not finding your nuggets. At that level, you are aware that everything you propose to do always has the same goal: the win/win and the double satisfaction, which will allow us to even further develop new future horizons. Work on your community of gold nuggets and don't move away from it; it will very likely always have all the answers you need.
