We want to offer the best of our country, but that doesn't only mean having an excellent product — there must be much more. Our hallmark The complete product: that is gourmet A seal of recognition Our recommendations Our hallmark Three years ago, in the middle of the pandemic, when we explained to Spanish producers what the requirements were to be selected, we were certainly looked at with some suspicion. In Spain, saying no and explaining the reason is not very common. And even less so when you are sincere in your reasons for telling them that their products are not of the quality we set as Made in Spain Gourmet. We've spent half our lives in the Premium market, almost always with international brands in fashion, watchmaking, automotive… where every detail matters, and a lot. You don't live only from a brand (that is when it is already recognized; imagine when it isn't), but from everything related to the product: its packaging, its storytelling (the brand's story), and the people behind the brand, who have made it big and important. Or simply who created it. [caption id="attachment_25422" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Product, Packaging, Storytelling & People, the criteria of Made in Spain Gourmet[/caption] The complete product: that is gourmet We are talking about the gourmet category, simply the most important and demanding in gastronomy. And not just anyone can be included in this select group. Because if France is sophistication and Italy is design, Spain is Quality. Yes — the highest quality, a natural talent that others long to have someday. But that's not the only important thing, because if you don't make it known, you'll never feel that you missed the opportunity to enjoy it. It's interesting that Spain has great defenders both native and foreign — people not born in the country — and they all offer a very similar and revealing diagnosis: our gastronomic products are extraordinary and world-class. Thank you for recognizing that, but who really knows them outside our borders? And I'm not referring to knowing what jamón ibérico or extra virgin olive oil or paella is, or a Rioja or a Priorat. That doesn't satisfy me. When I continue arguing with European shops about the prices of the products we offer them, I end up telling them that we are not resellers, but we are our own channel where we publicize and, above all, protect the highest-quality Spanish gourmet products — those that cost what they're worth. And look, little by little that nearly impenetrable wall that existed between the Spanish gourmet product and the European and global gourmand who worships it is being broken. A seal of recognition The Spanish brands in this category that are part of our store are the result of values we subscribe to 100%. Because in our country there are very talented people making products of the highest quality. And little by little we find along the way those who share those values, the Premium Networking phrase we coined in 2015. And if we work hard and invest in creating a unique product, we must think that that is only a quarter of the journey. Yes, only 25%, because if you don't dress it in its finest attire, who will notice it? Probably no one or almost no one. Certainly not if we don't explain its story and make it accessible to a national and international audience. Because if you don't move people, don't expect them to buy from you often, and even less so the people you desire. And we're missing one more point, for sure, of the same importance as the first three: who is behind those products and the brand. For heaven's sake, that is essential to differentiate us from the rest. On many occasions they hide and don't want the spotlight. Well, that's not right. They are part of the brand and the products. We do not conceive them without them. Those four requirements are key for Made in Spain Gourmet to be part of our Spanish gourmet community. Because there is no time to be undecided about what you want to be when you grow up, and without a defined identity, the market will not recognize you. And despite having already taken some important steps, there is still enormous work to be done with Spanish gourmet brands. Above all, because there is nothing that links them, nothing that unites them — no association, no guild, nothing. That is a serious mistake that we hope to remedy soon. Because if there's something I've learned as an entrepreneur, it's that alone you can't go very far, but well accompanied, you get where you want. With more than 700 SKUs that more than meet our requirements, and many more to come, we are very proud to offer you a little piece of our country, Spain, of which you can be sure it is among the best you will find. We enjoy quality — what it communicates when something has been made with time, effort, and in the best possible way. But to discover it, we fall in love with its exterior, and we have learned its story and its protagonists. That way, it's very easy to enjoy their products and, even better, recommend them to our entire community, which values our advice like a true friend who is happy to share joyful experiences.
