The extra virgin olive oil from Seville, Isbilya

Isbilya is a premium extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) brand originating from Umbrete, in the Aljarafe region of Seville.

This honest, family-run company combines knowledge passed down through generations with modern production techniques to offer high-quality extra virgin olive oils.

It all began with their grandfather, and they wanted to preserve their father's legacy. The market had collapsed and they had no choice but to launch the project or sell the land. That's how Isbilya began in 2010, when they transformed four hectares and obtained 1,000 liters of oil. They now have more than 50 hectares (and growing) and nearly 20,000 liters. They have always been connected to the land and the olive grove and trained specifically for it: Teresa, a chemist, and Ángel, a biologist, are siblings — the Martínez Marini — and the owners of Isbilya. Isbilya is a high-quality extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) brand produced by the family company Aceites Yllanes Marini, located in Umbrete, in the Aljarafe, Seville region. The name "Isbilya" pays homage to the name given to the city of Seville during the Muslim period in the 8th century. The company combines olive-growing tradition with innovative techniques to offer top-quality products. Their olive groves, which cover more than 50 hectares in the heart of the Aljarafe, are dedicated to cultivating four olive varieties: Arbequina, Arbosana, Koroneiki, and Sikitita. Isbilya stands out for its focus on innovation and differentiation in the EVOO sector. One example is their single-varietal Sikitita oil, a variety obtained from a cross between Arbequina and Picual, which offers a perfect balance between both types of oil. This EVOO has a mild, fruity flavor with a peppery touch, ideal for palates seeking more sophisticated flavors. Moreover, the brand not only wants to make an exceptional oil — which it does — but also to look exceptional on the outside. Its packaging design has been recognized. We are in love with its beautiful bottle, characterized by a convex shape that allows you to appreciate its "liquid gold" — spectacular. Isbilya is committed to quality and innovation, and has managed to position itself in the high-end segment of premium extra virgin olive oils, offering a unique sensory experience that combines the richness of Andalusian olive-growing tradition with a modern, disruptive approach. They don't want to be just another brand, but a true reference in the Spanish and global premium olive oil sector. Isbilya Sikitita: A single-varietal EVOO (one type of olive) made from the Sikitita variety, which is a cross between the Picual and Arbequina varieties. This oil presents a perfect balance between both olive types. Isbilya Koroneiki: Another single-varietal EVOO, in this case from the Koroneiki variety, which offers a more robust and peppery flavor, ideal for those seeking more intense tastes. Isbilya Grand Coupage Delicado: An EVOO that combines the Arbequina and Arbosana varieties, resulting in a balanced and sensational oil with low acidity levels and rich in polyphenols and antioxidants. You can find them all at Made in Spain Gourmet, and enjoy them at home with salads, your finest dishes, pair them with cheeses or chocolate, or as we like best — with a good artisan bread, just bread and oil; what a luxury!
