Mas Montseny
Like many traditional Catalan farming families, Mas Montseny began in the mid-19th century, when the first member of the Catà lineage arrived at the farmhouse to work as a caretaker, alongside his children. At the beginning of the 20th century, one of the grandsons,
Pep Montseny, bought the house and the land.
He, together with his son José Catá Sendrós, the godfather of the current generation, convinced the owners of seven farmhouses in the area to agree to work as a cooperative, and together they built a stone mill to produce oil for the seven rural homes. Mas de San Ramón, Mas de la Tocino, Mas de la Pegalós, Mas de Caballero, Mas Santamaria, La Torre de Fàbregas, and Mas Montseny joined forces.
