Aníbal de Otero Vino de la Villa de Otero del Toral is an authentic expression of Bierzo Mencía, made exclusively from goblet-trained vines with an average age of over 90 years, grown artisanally on the slopes of Otero de Toral at an altitude of 500-600 meters.
Winemaking
A free-style red wine aged for 3 to 6 months in semi-new French oak barrels and 3-liter steel tanks. It was bottled on January 23, 2019 without any fining or stabilization treatment.
Vines
Selection of the best vines in the village of Otero de Toral, with an average age of over 90 years. Sustainable artisanal farming with the utmost respect for the environment. Hand-harvested in 18-20 kilo crates.
Soils
Clay, sand, slate and rounded stones. Undergrowth, wildflowers and aromatic plants.
Aging
6 months in used 225-liter French oak barrels. Bottle-aged for at least 18 months.

Intense varietal aromas of the Mencía grape, dominated by red fruits (cherry and cassis) and black fruits (plum), with notes of oregano and wild herbs. Smoky and spicy notes (coconut and vanilla) from the oak wood remain in the background.
