Original Made in Spain 2025

Sometimes, buying ready-made Asturian fabada is the best solution for a sudden craving, or for impressing family and friends with a traditional Asturian dish. The reason is simple: it is not always easy to master the timing or cooking techniques, the stovetop, or simply to have top-quality ingredients on hand to guarantee the dish’s success.

To put an end to all these objections, Agromar has a section dedicated exclusively to preparing artisanal ready-made dishes that fully respect Asturian culinary tradition. Among them, its fabada is one of the star products. Slow-cooked with the finest raw ingredients from across the region and with no additives of any kind, it is carefully packaged so it reaches your home almost ready to enjoy.

It is one of their favorite spoon-dish recipes and one of the most sought-after among all their prepared dishes.

Arbeyal

Over 50 years of complete dedication With more than 50 years of experience, Agromar continues to offer the finest quality in canned and prepared products. The company’s history dates back to 1948, when Gijón native Armando Barrio Mata had the original idea of canning sea urchin roe, which at the time was very abundant along the rocky shores and beaches of Asturias. Initially intended for family consumption and used as a gift, this unique product soon revealed commercial potential that Armando was able to recognize and develop. In those years, there were many small artisanal canneries scattered along the Cantabrian coast, like the one his father ran back in 1920. Armando himself produced and sold salted fish, perhaps the most artisanal of all preserved foods. He was the one who finally registered the brand in 1968 and, 21 years later, fostered the creation of what we now know as CONSERVAS AGROMAR, a young and innovative corporation.   A leading company in constant evolution New times, new ideas, and new needs have driven Agromar’s constant growth in recent years, in sales as well as in product range and production capacity, taking on new challenges and enthusiastically entering highly competitive international markets. The success of Agromar products and their clear positioning in the “gourmet” segment have brought their preserves to the most select restaurants and delicatessens in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Mexico, the USA, and Hong Kong. This is undoubtedly the best reward for many years of work, and an incentive to continue working with dedication and care. Naturally, it was only right that we offer them at Made in Spain Gourmet. What better place for them to be showcased as representatives of the very best of our gastronomy.
