Tasting note: Mas Montseny "PREMIUM" extra virgin olive oil is an oil with no defects. Medium-high intensity green fruity profile. Balanced on the palate and with outstanding aromatic complexity, with notes of almond, walnut, artichoke, tomato, fennel, almond, and tomato plant. Overall, it is very harmonious and balanced, and highly appealing to many consumers.

Pairing: at Made in Spain Gourmet we recommend using it raw in dishes that need aromatic lift, such as salads, grilled vegetables, marinades, sauces such as mayonnaise, aioli, and vinaigrette; chilled creams (salmorejo and gazpacho); pastry doughs; and acidic tropical fruits. Also suitable for sautés, paellas, and rice dishes in general.

Mas Montseny

Like many traditional Catalan farming families, Mas Montseny began in the mid-19th century, when the first member of the Catà lineage arrived at the farmhouse to work as a caretaker, alongside his children. At the beginning of the 20th century, one of the grandsons, Pep Montseny, bought the house and the land. He, together with his son José Catá Sendrós, the godfather of the current generation, convinced the owners of seven farmhouses in the area to agree to work as a cooperative, and together they built a stone mill to produce oil for the seven rural homes. Mas de San Ramón, Mas de la Tocino, Mas de la Pegalós, Mas de Caballero, Mas Santamaria, La Torre de Fàbregas, and Mas Montseny joined forces.
