Description of the lithograph:

“The composition centers on the polygonal fountain, tiled with blue ceramic and covered with flowers. It is surrounded by abundant vegetation, and part of the house can be seen in the background. But the play of colors so dominates the painting that the viewer pays little attention to the objects represented. The vibrant image gives such a sense of movement within the composition that the viewer registers the effect of light on the objects more than their own physical solidity.”
