El Ronqueo

One of the most representative areas—if not the most representative—for Mediterranean bluefin tuna fishing is found in the Gulf of Cádiz. And in the town of Barbate, El Ronqueo was born in 2002, with the mission of producing preserved and semi-preserved fish. In Spain we are truly fortunate: the Mediterranean Sea also provides us with genuine treasures, such as bluefin tuna from the Cádiz almadraba. Although they also fish other great delicacies such as frigate mackerel, sardines, anchovies, and mackerel, the magnificent bluefin tuna is the true jewel in the crown. As with all the Spanish producers we work with, the exceptional quality of their raw materials is essential. They are also sourced locally, which is greatly appreciated today. The Cádiz fish markets are run by fishermen whose families have been fishing traditionally for generations, using medium and small boats and caring for the sea so that there will always be fish to catch. Of course, they also use highly advanced production systems to guarantee preservation without added preservatives, applying cutting-edge pasteurization and sterilization technology. They also have an organic-style line of preserves, with its own brand: Artesanos de Almadraba. The market, especially internationally, increasingly demands these products, made with great respect for the environment and organic practices. This means they comply strictly with regulations and have stopped using pesticides. In this way, they obtained organic certification, a guarantee of quality and preservation of their surroundings. At MadeinSpain.store, in love with our country, we can only say that their products are excellent, and their tuna is unmatched. Un caprice des Dieux.
