Our La Curiosa pâté

They do not see pâté as a substitute product or a lower-quality product.

They see it as another way to enjoy quality preserved fish and seafood.

In other words, you can make pâté with sardine heads or with toasted sardine fillets.

The difference?

Cat food, or a quality product with certified origin.

The same philosophy, but with a blender

Product traceability: Galician mussel, fishmongers and products from the fish markets of Burela (Lugo).

No additives and no “extras”: they like labels with 5/6 ingredients, where the only thing accompanying the fish or seafood is a vegetable sofrito or garlic olive-oil dressing. Just as your grandmother would make it!

KM0 products: from the tomato to the onion, everything comes from nearby market gardens, specifically from their supplier “Hortas O Salnés”.

Quality: they aim to create a new category, helping consumers understand that a seafood pâté can truly be a top-quality product.

Pairing: At Made in Spain Gourmet, we recommend enjoying it with toasted bread or a Paul & Pippa cracker. Pair it with a good white Albariño or Verdejo wine.

Store in a cool, dry place, not exceeding 35ºC. Once opened, the container must be kept in the refrigerator. We recommend consuming it within the next 24 hours.

Best before: 4 years from the date of manufacture.

La Curiosa

What a pleasure it is to come across entrepreneurs like Cristobal Fernández. Do not expect from him a romantic lineage of three generations devoted to the world of preserved seafood.

He is mad about tinned delicacies, and it clearly runs in the family. His mother worked in a cannery for more than 15 years, so you can imagine there was always a tin of something on the table at home.

After finishing his studies, curiosity led him to learn more about the world of canning, and he even had the opportunity to work in a factory for a year.

When passion for something meets an entrepreneurial streak, there is no turning back. As mentioned before, he has youth on his side, and also plenty of drive: a real desire to do things well, to bring fresh ideas to a sector that can be too conservative, to innovate and begin again. Innovation in gastronomy is essential to reach new generations.

His mission is to offer preserves of the highest quality, suited to the most discerning palates.

They are staunch defenders of the quality of Galician preserves, which is why they only produce in the finest factories around the Ría de Arousa. They feel a deep passion for the craft, for the people of the sea, for our estuaries, for our surroundings and for our tradition. That is why they do things just as they have been taught, generation after generation.

They continue to make their preserves with delicacies from the Galician estuaries, preparing their sauces according to traditional recipes using only natural ingredients and no additives, while maintaining almost-forgotten processes such as the toasting of certain fish.

At La Curiosa, they produce only high-quality preserves made from the finest seafood and fish, caught in season and at their peak. The product is crafted artisanally, with careful hand canning and packing. Each piece is selected and placed in the tin to ensure the best possible presentation when it is tasted.

Thanks to their passion for doing things properly, they are able to create an exceptional product.

The brand’s goal is to dress a gourmet product as a gift: “They want to take tins of preserves out of the pantry and turn them into delicious gifts.”
